After months of consideration, narrowing it down to two breeds, and then waffling back and forth between the two breeds in an entirely indecisive manner for an embarrassingly long period of time, we finally decided on getting a female boxer puppy. I felt like what I really wanted was a flashy fawn female; indeed, I have always preferred fawn to brindle. However, when we saw this little girl our hearts just melted and we knew that this flashy brindle was exactly what we wanted. Behold the cuteness!
So far the transition has gone really smoothly. Both girls love her and Walnut seems to share their devotion. It was amazing to see how excitedly she wagged her tiny tail on Sunday morning upon seeing the girls after having only had the previous day to get to know them.
For her part, Walnut has adapted astonishingly well and is already taking for granted her enormous pillow and plethora of toys. After spending the first 10 weeks of her life (perhaps entirely inside?) with her litter mates, she is addicted to the great outdoors. Unfortunately, this encompasses a questionable interest in eating the bees that are harvesting pollen in our garden. Admittedly, this last development is a tad concerning!
