Memorial Day Weekend

We hope that all of our friends and family enjoyed a relaxing weekend of great weather like us Geisslers did! We were very sad to have a visit by our good friend Alena and her young boy Charlie canceled at the last minute; we hope that Alena is feeling better and that the rest of her pregnancy is smooth!

On Saturday we headed out to a Kangaroo and Christmas Tree Farm (yes, that is what I just wrote; ahem, a kangaroo and Christmas tree farm) for the birthday part of one of Liesl's classmates. The farm was...rural. However, the girls did have a great time and we have the pictures below to prove that!

Here is a picture of Liesl feeding a kangaroo. She was a bit timid about handing the food to them and she had a tendency to throw it gently at their feet and then loudly instruct them to "eat it!"

As with most things in life, Alden was less tentative than Liesl.

It was a happy day for all!

After the tour was over, they brought out a baby (joey) kangaroo that was cuddled in a blanket and all of the children got to hold him. Both Liesl and Alden were elated!
